My research and teaching interests center upon geographical approaches to political economy, feminist and critical race theory, and critical poverty and prison studies. I am especially interested in exploring the connections between processes of economic change and the discursive and material production of gendered, racialized, and classed identities and spaces. This focus brings analyses of capitalist restructuring together with critical theories of difference to explore identity construction and the ways in which power and inequality are structured around discourses and practices of gender, race, ethnicity, class, and nationality.
